STEVEN BARTLETT INTERVIEW
The other day I was listening to an interview with Steven Bartlett (from Dragon's Den and the highly successful entrepreneur).

It made me so happy to hear him talking about many of those things that are often considered boring by entrepreneurs (not by me I hasten to add, but then I am a numbers geek!)
.
He was mentioning that probably 15-20 times in the last 10 years he has struggled to make payday and even a few hours out had no idea how he was going to pay his teams.
.
When you have integrity - as he clearly does - that is SERIOUS pressure as you know people's lives and livelihoods depend on that money, as do their families.
.
And it reminded me of something i learnt very early in my career:
Revenue is Vanity
Profit is Sanity
Cash is King
.
I know this is the unsexy side of business but I've said it before and I'll say it again .... understanding your cashflow can save you so many financial stresses and challenges. Predictability is absolutely crucial here.
.
Did you know 70% of UK businesses are under the VAT threshold - ie earning an average of £7k per month or less (before taxes, expenses etc.). If you want to scale into the top 30%, you need to know how, when and how fast you can do this.
.
SB also talked about how cashflow struggles "evidence" (where your mind is concerned) your inadequacies such that you lose self-belief and the impact of that just results in a downward spiral.
.
And this is where the high performance bit comes in.... Learning to resist your labels (self-imposed or otherwise) and to keep optimism, focus, hard work and belief you can overcome the issue at hand - an unwavering belief that YOU have got this....
