Spectrum Affiliates's Testimonial
For the past 4 years I have been helping to coordinate a Mentoring Programme for five Local Authorities in Wales (Newport, Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Torfaen and Monmouthshire) under the banner of the University of South Wales. This includes the Mentoring of individuals/teams who work in each LA, the training and development of Mentors and the deployment and monitoring of those Mentors to work with Sports Clubs throughout the region. In this time, we have called upon a number of outside agencies to provide Continual Professional Development programmes for all personnel within the scheme. However, the work conducted by Spectrum Affiliates has exceeded all our expectations, proved very impressive and, as such, we are in the middle of planning for a comprehensive programme of services with them.
Our workforce is constantly trying to help people to embrace positive change in work, sport and life generally and we feel that Spectrum can make us better informed and more able to initiate this change by working with their team. As their philosophy states ‘Spectrum leads people into change gently and is easy to embrace and use with even the most nervous recipient. It creates lasting Change very quickly, progressively helping the client to regain self-reliance at a pace that is dictated by the client and supported by the Coach/ Mentor’. This fits perfectly well with our desire to improve all aspects of Sports Development work in each of our Local Authorities.
Our work is all about trying to work with teams and individuals and we are convinced that Mick and his team will be able to help support all our personnel, whether they are professional staff or hard working volunteers. We also believe that this change work will not only help people who have difficult issues to contend with but also each and every one of us who really needs to consider whether we are emotionally intelligent and in touch with our true selves.
We have come to understand that most, if not all of us, are often harbouring issues that we don’t even recognise ourselves. However, by working with Spectrum Affiliates and developing our emotional coaching, creating better self-awareness and dealing with our own issues we, as an organisation & educational establishment, will be better placed to engage, communicate and improve relationships with employees, coaches, administrators and students resulting in improved wellbeing, enhanced personal performance and increased productivity. Therefore, I can highly recommend Mick Stott and the Spectrum Affiliates programme of work.
