Self-debriefing after every interview.

Self-debriefing after every interview.

We’ve all heard the old cliche about mistakes being learning opportunities, but there is a great element of truth in it when we go through interviews as we seek to pursue our career objectives.

In the likely absence of useful feedback from your interviewers, be they companies, recruiters or head hunters, it is vitally important that you debrief yourself as soon as is practicable after every interview.

The aim of the exercise is to assess whether you came across as well as you are capable of doing.

Seek the help of your mentor and set up a series of post-interview questions which, when you answer them, will allow you to assess your performance objectively in a way that will also allow you to benefit from any mistakes you may have made.
