The beautiful science of Networking

Anyone setting up on their own in business, you’ll get this..

You know, the times when we pour our hearts out, when we get all passionate with potential clients who find it all very interesting. They nod, they smile, they say they could do with some of that. But then they kindly decline. They say they have a lot on right now.

And it's deflating. But here's the thing, we can build our resilience for times like this, quite simply by networking.

This week, I connected with Caroline, a fellow entrepreneur. We bonded over our shared experiences in business and our science backgrounds. It felt powerful, we felt safe and understood. But there's more to it than just words. As we share our dreams and ideas, our bodies react. Our nervous systems engage, our electrical pulses light up, particularly the ventral vagal part of our vagus nerve. This interaction tones our nerves and builds resilience. It's not just networking, it's coregulating, it’s our science.

Thus, it transcends mere business, it's our primal survival instinct at play. It's about forging human connections, finding acceptance and safety within our community. It's about strengthening our ventral vagal network to cope with setbacks, enabling us to rebound with increased determination and resilience.

So, let's keep talking. Let's keep connecting. Let's keep coregulating. Because this is what it's all about. This is the heart of our business. This is the purpose of ventral vagal strengthening.
