How many zombies do you know?

I'm toying with demonstrating a new state of mind because I'm being dragged into negative conversations with colleagues about certain people and something isn't sitting right with me so this outlet allows me to experiment with behavioural types in an attempt to produce some kind of outlet for myself and of course you, the reader.  So lets think about zombies!

Please comment your opinion and thoughts on this topic.

Firstly what is a zombie state and why would you want to break out of it? My perception of a zombie represents someone who can't think logically and exists only because a new instinct to survive was created and by this occurring they ignore all the wonderful things around them.

They cause panic in humans as they search out flesh to tear at and eat.

There are two zombie states. Moaning zombie and peaceful zombie.

Moaning zombies are frustrated with situations that surround them, moaning and complaining about this and that and rather than looking for human flesh to eat they eat at others happiness and wellbeing. They can drag others down into their cold dark world.  These people, just like zombies have no idea how they project themselves onto others.  They have no conscious understanding of the world around them or if they do they choose to stay miserable because they feel the world owes them a favour.

A common factor that affects these people is they deflect responsibility from themselves onto others and should they be in this zombie state for years, they become accustomed to failure and misery.  It's a harrowing situation for a human to interact with Moaning Zombies.  These zombies are at their best when they are with other moaning zombies.

The Peaceful zombie exists in the same cycle of existence day after day, year after year and to contemplate adapting or doing something differently is totally off their radar. They wake up when the alarm goes off, pressing snooze is too radical, and begun their monotonous day.  These people may feel great inside, comfortable with routine and safety but their body language will tell you otherwise and in fact they rarely feel great inside.

It's in our human nature to want to see people be the best they can.  It's in our nature to want others we see and feel to be struggling to find a happier more fulfilling life.  This caring empathetic nature is demonstrated in no more powerful way than our donations to charities.  The country is in economic crisis, there are fewer jobs and people generally are spending less yet when it comes to putting our hands into our pockets for Children in Need, ALS (motor neuron disease) cancer research etc, we feel by doing so we are helping others in a way we feel can make a difference.

But when it comes to helping those zombies around us we struggle to say the right words or do the right things through fear of hurting their feelings, being verbally attacked or just not knowing what to do. It's much easier to donate money via text than to attempt to change a person's behaviour by having that conversation with them.  Maybe a charity needs to be set up for zombies?

You can see why someone would want to break out of the zombie state because as an onlooker you want them to be happy so you can feel more comfortable around them.  We are social creatures by nature and when the chance to be social with someone is limited because of their zombie state we deflect our frustrations by creating social barriers between us and them.

If you know someone in one of these zombie states, it's ok for you to feel frustrated or sorry for them.  But it's their responsibility to break out of it should they choose to.  I understand being around these people can be draining so know that tolerance can be one if your biggest allies just for the amount of time you are around them at specific moments in your lives.  Know that your lives are richer than theirs and you have a varied life that takes your mind and body to better places. Is it fair on you to be tolerant of zombies or do you feel the need to seek out an antidote?
