Mock Adjudication - QSi / CIOB Joint Event - Bootle - 11th October 2012 Date: 11 Oct 2012 Type: Partnership events with the QSi Meeting point:Council Chambers, Bootle Town Hall, Oriel Road, Bootle, Liverpool L20 7AE Mock Adjudication: Covering the changes brought about by the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009 and more. Adjudication is the primary dispute resolution process in the UK construction market and is also now considered in many international jurisdictions.The Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009 (1 October 2011) has introduced some significant changes to the HGCRA (1996) which will impact on all Parties engaged in a construction contract. The mock adjudication will be based on an actual dispute scenario which will be typical to the arguments and strategies adopted by Parties who are in dispute. We will meet a few characters on the way! The event will be led and narrated by John Mason FCIArb, MRICS, Dip Arb, LLB(Hons), BSc (Hons), CEDR Accredited Mediator, Adjudicator with the Parties being represented by lawyers and consultants. The role of the Adjudicator will be played by Roger Knowles FRICS, FCIArb, FQSi, Barrister” Travel to the venue Parking: The Sefton council car park on the corner of Trinity Road and Oriel Road, directly opposite the front entrance to the town hall, has approximately 70 free spaces available on a first come first served basis. Trinity Road also has free and paid on-road spaces. By Train: Approx 15 minutes from Liverpool Moorefield’s Station to Bootle Oriel Rd then 2 minutes walk. By Bus: Numbers 52’s, 53’s & 55’s from Liverpool city centre to Stanley Road, opposite Pinnacle House (converted Church) then 3 minutes walk. The Adjudication will take place in the Council chambers within the confines of the grade 2 listed town hall which will make this event a unique experience. The event will start with registration/ networking and refreshments from 6.00 until 7.00pm.
